Praying 50+ Small Groups Impact Elk Grove/Sac

Will you believe with me for God to do something powerful in the Elk Grove/Sacramento area through Small Groups this Fall?

Elk Grove Map

On September 8th at my church (Thrive), we are launching over 50 Small Groups throughout our local communities. Two years ago, our church was running 15 groups.  This Fall marks the most adult small groups we’ve ever seen, praise God! What an opportunity!

Just this morning I was asking the Lord for an open heaven over each meeting that takes place this Fall. In the past we have seen people saved, instantaneously healed, baptized in the Holy Spirit and more in our small group meetings. I’m believing that as each small group reaches out to others and presses into God, that we will collectively shake up the spiritual atmosphere in our neighborhoods and region.

So let’s pray! Pray that people who don’t know the Lord or are disconnected from His family will find their way to a Small Group meeting this Fall! Pray for God’s Word and Spirit to touch peoples’ hearts in personal ways! Pray for powerful times of worship and prayer! Pray for gifts to be activated and new leaders to be equipped and raised up for His harvest!

The map of Elk Grove, seen above, hangs in my office. Each colored push pin represents a small group that is meeting in that location. Many mornings, I’ll extend a hand towards this map and pray for God’s Spirit to flood this area. If you feel inclined, extend a hand towards the screen and say a prayer over Elk Grove! God bless…

    1. Hey that is a very nice map. Looks pretty familiar! I even see our little pin and I see how much of a difference each of those pins makes within peoples lives and the community.

After a good night of a small group at our house, I just love it when a neighbor asks how our party went. I tell them that it wasn’t a party as they may think of it, I tell them it was a spiritual party with God. Then, while they have the puzzled look on their face (typically caused by embarrassment) I encourage them to attend the next group. Additionally, a very graceful thing to do on the night of the next meeting is to provide a neighbor with a simple homemade dessert, from the group, as a token of appreciation for their understanding of the cars parked in front of their house. Their attendance will soon be recognized. Amen!

      • Thanks for the hook up with Elk Grove PD and that map!

That’s great to hear how your home small group is spilling over into your neighborhood, praise God!
